Apart of being human is to have a self centered ego. It’s worse in some people than in others, but we all have it. . That egos sole purpose is to “protect” me, but usually its harmful to me. . My ego is constantly on the look out for what it thinks I “need” and it’s never fulfilled always wanting more. . It’s constantly comparing myself to others and thinking I’m better then them. . Ever get defensive or feel the need to “protect” yourself?...that’s ego. People with “God” in their lives don’t need to be defended, protected or need an ego. . The answer/solution to ALL the problems in the world, including racism...is God. If everyone had their own conception of a God that they could understand. . No self centered ego...no racism!. . Deflating the ego is the goal, and that’s made possible by having a relationship with a God I can trust, rely on and depend on in my life!. . You don’t have to believe in a “God” that was forced onto you or that was someone else’s. You can believe in what ever you want, it just has to be a Power greater than yourself...a Higher Power!. . It's confusing for people, when they see someone with ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) look kind of normal, even do something social or active one day, and the next day explain that they can't move, they can't do anything. It's bewildering and confusing for everyone, including not just those experiencing ME/CFS themselves. Let's talk about vertebral discs.⁠ ⁠ Between each vertebra, there's a squishy donut-looking structure called a disc. These provide some shock absorption and joint integrity to our spine. ⁠ ⁠ You've probably heard of a "herniated disc". Due to some awkward movement, the disc (or parts of it) pops out of it's living area. This acutely narrows the space between the vertebra (where important nerves live) and thus causes discomfort. I've found that this is more common in youngsters as their discs are still quite squishy and slippery! Good news is that, though this discomfort is often pretty extreme, it can usually be quickly addressed with exercises that will allow that disc to slip back into place.⁠ ⁠ On the other hand, "DDD" or "Degenerative Disc Disease" is where the disc gets compressed and almost a little stiff/stale. It has a similar effect, pinching the nerve, and can cause very similar symptoms. Sadly, this is harder to treat because it's a result of time upright against gravity (age) and that process can't really be reversed. The best thing to do is to stay strong in the core and flexible so that there's less pressure bearing down on the joint. ⁠ ⁠ Moral of the story: exercise is medicine. Hop to it! :-)⁠

I'm finally getting my native kidneys removed and my ureter repaired! 🙌🏻 (normally they leave the original kidneys in post transplant). • By removing my native kidneys and repairing my ureter: • my 70 pills a day will be more like 40 pills a day • metabolic acidosis won't be an issue anymore • nausea will decrease • bones will get stronger • I'll get less infections • have more energy • better quality of life I'm most excited about having a normal co2 level for probably the first time in my life! Having low co2 levels, especially for a long period of time will cause a number health issues. It'll be #awholenewworld for me post surgery. R O U T I N E How do you sleep? Establishing a pre-bedtime routine - practicing good “sleep hygiene” is likely to help you fall asleep more easily at night, improve your sleep quality and help you to stay asleep until morning. It's not as hard to do as you might think! Here's my personal routine. I find that I can relax in a clean and tidy environment. Free from mess and clutter. So I'll make a conscious effort to maintain this throughout the day. I drop the main lights when it gets dark and put on some candles, a low light lamp or many small sources of light. If I'm not watching TV, I'll listen to "soft" music. I'll have a warm shower and take my time with my skincare routine and brushing my teeth. Then, most nights I'll do a 15-20 min restorative Yoga session. This something I've been practicing for around a month and it's great for preparing the body and mind for bed. Followed by a glass of water. I've started charging my phone in the kitchen now overnight to reduce screen-time before sleep and first thing in the morning. I know, I know – What about the alarm?? Here's a great tip – buy an alarm clock! I'll check the doors, switch off the lights and prep my bedroom. Room temperature is important to me – I like to have a cool room with warm bedding. I'll ensure my Fitbit is on and recording my sleep. Then I'll find a comfy spot, empty my mind and start to doze off Zzz. _____ #recovery #routine #bedtimeroutine #habits #sleep #puregymipswich

Some times things don't always work out the way you would like them to. Unfortunately, I will not be competing at jitzking_promotions next weekend as I planned due to a neck injury. Usually, I'm not the one to pull out of a match or tournament from a injury. The neck injury is causing a bulging disk and pinch nerve and pain in shoulder. However, after to talking to my coach raycasiasbjj and best friend shoyofro they reminded me that I only have one body and I need to take care of it. Even though I wont be competing I will be using this time to work on my recovery and take the time to focus on myself. I will be back and ready to compete the next chance I can. Therapy Tip Thursday: The side lunge with a t-band pull is a great leg stabilization and strength exercise. It works the adductor muscles which keeping hip stabilization when performing squats, as well as single leg activities like running and jumping.⠀ ⠀ Grab a t-band and tie it around a stable pole. With the band around your leg place a slider under the same foot (or use a sock on a hard surface that will allow you to slide). Shift your weight to the other leg and drop down into a squat while the leg with the t-band slides out towards the pole the band is tied to. As your bring yourself back up, slide your leg back under yourself as you come back up to the starting position. Anyone in the recovery world-block this person Courtney T !! catxwashington !! She is completely demented and enjoys harassing anyone that sets off her insecurities and shortcomings. Blocked her a long time ago on my old account after she left me an unprovoked comment saying, “At least my vital organs are fully functioning, unlike yours. And, I have a f #cking hot boyfriend.” She has changed her username and found my new account, and my henna account, and straightaway started with the ridiculous comments. Just a warning.

PTW. Had this pho around 12pm yesterday, and spent the evening *involuntarily* vomiting it up at random places around town. Worst was suddenly putting my car into park in front of Safeway with cars honking behind me and people staring at me throwing up outside of my car door. Had some teenage boys drive by laughing and screaming at me gagging on rice noodles and having sriracha infused stomach acid coming out of my nose. When my potassium dips below normal, I get double screwed because I start uncontrollably vomiting. Putting off going to the er Incase a miracle happens and my nausea disappears long enough for me to keep my potassium meds down. I’d rather take my potassium at home than show up at the er where they discharge me prematurely because I’m not skinny enough to be taken seriously(it happens every single time so don’t say it’s my “body dysmorphia”). Seriously this is not fun or glamorous or even remotely worth it. Must be sick, but not too sick, and compliant but not too compliant that you’re seen as too competent to be in treatment, and you must be safe but not too safe that you can be discharged from all therapy, and you must be traumatized by not too traumatized that you’re a hopeless case, and you must seek out help but not too much that you’re aggressive and banned from programs, and you must be grateful for the help you’re given but not too grateful that you’re seen as obsessive, and you must look ill but not so ill that you trigger your fellow patient and there’s just no way to be just enough but not too much all at the same time.
