I thought I’d share some clips from my recent back day workout with you all. I’ve grown to love back days almost as much as I love a good Booty and Leg day. Now when I used to think of back days I would think of really buff guys with wide cut up backs which can be quite intimidating for a woman if I’m going to be completely honest, but as a woman we can achieve the look of a sexier more toned back by performing the same workouts as guys but with less weight. I’m fairly new to working my upper body but these 3 workouts shown above have been super effective for me and slowly but surely I’ve been noticing some satisfying changes in my muscle growth. 👉🏼Lat Pull downs 4x10 (55lbs) 📌you can start off with less weight and work your way up once you start feeling like the weight is becoming easier to get down. 👉🏼Barbell Rows 4x10. 📌this workout can easily be done with a curl bar that weighs less for anyone just starting out. Barbells weigh about 45lbs so working your way up is key 🔑 👉🏼Dumbbell Rows 4x10 for each arm. 📌I usually perform these with 10-15lbs dumbbells. I have put a lot of effort into becoming a new version of myself this year. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵’𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧𝘧. ⁣ ⁣ What started this kick? My health. I had started to head back up the scale again, and it was a ride I knew all too well 🎢⁣ ⁣ So I quit focusing on short-term goals, being skinny, and mainstream nutrition advice. In culinary school we were taught nutrition is a new science 🧬 , and it’s going to be evolving constantly for awhile. So just know the basics to get you through.⁣ ⁣ I’m thankful to that instructor for putting that into perspective. I’m happy I’ve taken the time to read up on what agendas are being served by health recommendations. I’m glad I’ve dug deep enough to learn that 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, and ingredients are the most important thing to look for on that label.⁣ ⁣ I’m still making changes to my eating habits. Once I put my health at the top of my budget, I started to re-evaluate what I thought was acceptable to put in my body on a regular basis 🤔 I found room in my spending when I dropped the gym to add in high quality supplements. I figured out that if I had higher quality meat delivered, I would just about breakeven with my normal grocery spend on those proteins 🥩 I started to actually do the math, and the long-term costs of eating garbage just don’t add-up.⁣ ⁣ I love that I can keep adjusting as I learn more and more 🤩 That my body is to a point where I know what good feels like, and it will let me know when something isn’t working. When I’m dragging, stuck in a little brain fog, I know I just need to evaluate what the day before looked like. Did I enjoy some foods that I normally don’t? Cool, now I know what to expect next time and how to avoid it if that’s my choice 🍹🍨🌰⁣ ⁣ That’s the thing, it’s all a choice. We are deciding what to tolerate in our lives, and what we find unacceptable. It’s all up to us, let’s do something about it 💪

Yes I lost 53lbs of unhealthy weight. I read a post the other day about someone wanting to loose "lbs" but that they couldn't do it because then they would be soooo hungry😿 . . I get messages all the time about this that say "My coach or PT put me on 1,200 calories per day, I am doing full body weight training workouts 5-6 days per week and 30-45 min of cardio everyday after weights". . . The body cannot sustain this abuse for long. It's like saying let's stress your body out completely everyday and starve it, WTF 🤷🏼‍♀️ This is the old school approach that 9/10 times leads to gaining back everything you lost down the road and then some. Wrecking havoc on your immune system, cortisol levels and affecting your metabolism to lower itself because now you've entered into Old School starvation mode. That's just the tip of the iceberg of the negative impact that that type of schedule can have on the body. . . During my weight loss journey I was eating 2,000+ calories per day for the first 10 months. I only did HIIT 2X per week and the other 4 days I was lifting weights, breaking up my muscle groups in between those four days. I completely changed my way of thinking from how I was taught first. Yes, I make adjustments every month based off my goals but I am still eating 1,700+ calories a day and seeing changes. . . It's time for a shift to take place in the old way of your Mother's way of thinking. You have time. There’s a lot of times we think we don’t have time to show up at the gym or even wake up and get in a quick workout. It sometimes is true, life can be crazy and we really can’t make it for a 20-30 minute workout in our schedule. But other times, it becomes something we tell ourselves that we can’t do or we don’t have time. . ⏳“I don’t want to wake up 20 minutes early” ⏳“I don’t have time to go in for 30 minutes” ⏳“I just don’t want to” I’m here to say , I half the time don’t want to either. But I know what I expect of myself. I know what I want to achieve. And I’d rather achieve it faster then make it a second thought. These two pictures are an hour apart. I woke up 15 minutes earlier than usual and did a 15-20 minute hiit workout. Got it in. Even though it was a Friday and I always struggle with these workouts. I made it a goal to do a live video so I could engage myself and my b100m girls. 15-20 minutes. That’s it. And I felt great after. I showered. Drank some coffee. Ate a quick breakfast and was off to work for the day. No need to have to workout before a night out with friends. Or therefore no workout at all. It’s how you plan your day. It’s a priority you set. You can get it in. Even when you don’t want to. You end up loving it and being so happy you did. and happy hump day
