Always be kind 💜 Kindness is free and does not cost anything. Yes we all have those days that test us and yes some people are going to grate on you, but being kind does not cost anything. It will make you feel more happier and better about yourself. Being kind does not letting people walk over you but makes you stand out. You never know, being kind to a person going through a really tough might be what they need. REMEMBER: You do not know the battles that people are facing. We all have become wired to have very strong game faces of everything being ok when in reality it is not which often leads to mental health and breakdowns. This week's #counseling has challenged me to evaluate where I am in regards to my #thinking and #habits. I am being brutally #honest with myself as I have learned to be. I feel like quite a bit is in these phases. Some is in the #action part, some is in the maintenance part, and some has definitely moved to the termination area. No matter what though, I have made progress and I am proud of myself. I feel like there will always be action to be mindful of my behavior and adjusting. It feels great to be in control of my thoughts and feelings. Don't give up on yourself. You can do it. It takes the choice and willingness to make the changes to better your internal world. During my years of providing mental healthcare on highschool campuses, kids told me all the time that 1️⃣ this question became monotonous real quick, 2️⃣ they anticipated any answer other than "good" was somehow wrong, and 3️⃣ it became something they dreaded answering at pick-up. 😔 Change it up by asking more open-ended questions! I know we've been a little quiet here lately, trust us, running a little brand isn't as easy as they said it would be. Keeping it 100% truthful, trying to get a peace of mind and staying motivated can be harder than learning telepathy. As Pos from the legendary De La Soul once said:⁠ ⁠ 'Man, life can get all up in your ass, baby, you betta work it out'⁠ ⁠ Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. Now, without a doubt, we've all been there, but roadblocks (and anxiety) aside, KOCHIBA it just too lit to quit baby. Its time to step out the comfort zone. Time to speak up on things that we’re all affected by but too often opt to sweep under the rug. ⁠ Using personal experiences and learning, we're switching lanes and shifting focus to something affecting too many of us. There are far better things ahead than the ones we leave behind. I can promise you that. Sometimes I get so caught up in the what if’s. What if I hadn’t moved to California? What if I’m not like everyone else? What if I’m missing out? What if I don’t succeed? Why do we get so caught up in the what if’s? Maybe it’s because we are over thinkers, maybe it’s insecurity, maybe it’s envy of those who can do the things we can’t, maybe it’s the disease. Who knows. But I can promise you that a crowded mind leaves no space for a peaceful heart. So today I am going to focus on being present. Present with the people around me, present with my surroundings, and present with myself. At least I can find some peace in that.

Do you feel guilty after eating certain foods?⠀ ⠀ Do you let it ruin your day and hinder your results by saying “f*ck it all”... “I messed up”... “mind as well give up”? ⠀ ⠀ Then you overeat in an emotional food fog to later say “I guess I’m not/barely eating tomorrow”.... Which really means starving all day to binge out all over again at night!!!⠀ ⠀ It’s okay I am guilty of doing this myself... for years! ⠀ ⠀ I would put these crazy limitations on what I could and couldn’t eat. Only to leave me feeling deprived and overly focused on what I couldn’t have. ⠀ ⠀ This is not a way to live and it is not a way to get your body to a place where it loves you back (like seeing the results you want)! ⠀ ⠀ For me, my results and fulfillment came from BALANCE!! ⠀ ⠀ Balance, not eating everything that fits into your macros, not eating only vegetables & lean protein, not cutting out a whole food group when it is not needed, not slashing your calories. ⠀ ⠀ Our mental health one of the most important factors of our overall health. If the lifestyle you are trying to lead is not bettering your mental health but instead tearing it down, why continue to live this way? arms: my most insecure body part and the one people comment on the most I went back to my hometown this weekend and saw a lot of people I haven’t seen in years. I ended up going to a wedding with my dad and we ended up sitting by all people his age and that were my mom’s friends. The first thing they did was grab my arms. “Wow you are so buff!” Instead of taking it as a compliment my heart sank and I immediately began to defend myself by saying I had to train to hold my own in rugby or that they were always just big. But I know they weren’t. I worked hard for this muscle, but for some reason I am only confident with it when I am in the gym with a pump (pls tell me I’m not the only one like this). I’ve thought a lot about this since the weekend and I’m going to try my best to push away those negative thoughts and embrace the parts of me that grow quickly. Plus, it was kind of funny that it lead to all these old farts telling me how much they could bench 😂 I felt like a true bro. What do you do to help with insecurities? Do you just brush them off or work to actively love them?

I feel quite rested which is surprising to me considering how often I woke up last night...I fell asleep around 11 and woke up at 3am, then again at 3:30am. i fell asleep for another 2 hours but woke up at 5:30 and couldn’t fall asleep until after 6. Then I was fast asleep until 8:20. I wasn’t tired when I woke up at 5:30, though, i felt like I was able to get up and start my day, but there’s nothing I could’ve really done except walk around camp or shower. my body is really exhausted though, and my legs are starting to feel numb. at least I have my night off tonight 🌙

Going to start doing a short preamble and summary for some of my sessions. Plan is to just set the scene for the session and then let you know how it went. Today is 4 x 3k, 90s rest, my go-to plod so not the most exciting session but these are my bread and butter. I always work in a range and tweak my targets based on how I'm feeling any given day. After a couple of weeks where my arrhythmia has been as infrequent as I can remember for some time, it was back this afternoon. But we truck on through it as largely I don't have any symptoms. Solid session, possibly worked slightly too hard given DOMS and a long training block without a rest day, but 3 more days and will take Sunday off (with a hangover). That’s my ACV drink that I have EVERY👏🏻SINGLE👏🏻DAY👏🏻it’s got lemon juice, cinnamon, cayenne, and water in it and the only way to drink it is to CHUG it🤪 . Now, why the hell would I drink this? No. Not to “burn fat”🙄I don’t buy into that especially when there’s nothing to back it up. I drink it because I know it’s good for my gut! Because it has helped to regulate my digestion and recalibrate my tummy after not-so-great food or drinks😬 . But I also drink it because it’s HARD! Because after I drink it I know that I’m ready to take on my day! I just chugged a nasty ass drink that most people can’t even finish...WHAT CANT I DO!?🤩 . There’s so much waiting for you outside of your small comfy bubble. It’ll scare you, but that’s because you’ve never tried it before! And if you “fail” WHO CARES!? Get up, keep going, try another way, and N E V E R G I V E U P 💪🏻 . What’s something you can do RIGHT NOW to get outside of your comfort zone??🤔

Participating in the Fringe is a rigorous task bound to bring your weak spots to the surface. Self care becomes of utmost importance, especially after the third week in a row of long performance days combined with late nights socializing. Fringe is an altered state, not for the faint of heart. . . . There’s been a lot more divide in the performer community this year. Scarcity mindsets have led to extensive drama between performers, organizers, and the local residents. Police intervention, infighting between performers, and a perceived shortage of spots - the list of complaints goes on and on. I’ve kept pretty quiet about my own opinions on the matter, because I don’t like to complain unless I am able to propose a solution. . . . Lately I’ve changed a line in my magic show, as I’m showing a signed card around to the audience. First I say “While I walk the card around the crowd, as individuals please nod if you can clearly see the name”. After I make the lap, I then say “As a collective, if you saw the card, say ‘Yeah!’ “. . . . It’s so easy to forget that we are *both* individuals, *and* part of a collective. It’s so hard to see both ends of the spectrum at the same time, but I honestly believe that the sweet spot is right in the middle. Go too far to the collective side, and you’ll find faults in everything except ground you stand on. Slide too far towards the individual perspective you’ll find yourself an isolated narcissistic megalomaniac unable to understand how anyone can walk in any shoes except your own. . . . As of meow there’s five days left in the Fringe. The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down in the hole and moves on. Then a priest comes along and the guy shouts up, 'Father, I'm down in this hole can you help me out?' The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in the hole and moves on. Then a friend walks by, 'Hey friend! I’m stuck! Can you help me out?' And the friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, 'Are you stupid? Now we're both down here.' The friend says, 'Yeah, but I've been down here before and I know the way out.'" 🎭 My dad told me this allegory the other day when I really needed it, and I wanted to pass it on to you all. We all need people to help us. There’s no shame in asking for help. As the song goes “we all need somebody to lean on...” ♥️
