I wasn’t going to post about this, as it’s quite personal and not strictly food related, but I’ve been 100% honest on this account and it’s SO important to raise awareness! 👙 . So yesterday I found a lump on my boob, I know because of my age it was 99.9% going to be nothing, but for that 0.1 % chance I went to the GP to get it checked anyway! I was quite worried about it at work, more surprised that I found anything to be honest, so today I came into this on my desk from my wonderful colleagues 😭 I’m so lucky to have these ladies in my life, we spend more time at work than we do with our family/friends, so to have people like this are really special ❤️ they even said to me they know it’s not healthy, but I can ‘put it through my scanny app’ to make sure I check the points of it 😭🥰 (1 eclair = 2sp, 1 kinder bon = 2sp) 💜 . My point being, it doesn’t matter how old you are or even your gender, never be embarrassed about speaking out about things like this or visiting your GP for a checkup. If this encourages even one person to check themselves, I know I’ve done right by posting this. I used to work in the breast department at a hospital, so I’ve seen it happen in all ages and genders. Happy Friday Eve #tiuteam ! Anyone workout outside today? Took an active rest day yesterday with a long walk because I had a headache. Hugs to everyone on rest days! Our bodies are good at letting us know when to slow down. We just have to be willing to listen.💕 . Extreme abs with studiotoneitupchyna had me like😳😳😳 and like many I had to modify because of my shoulder issues, but it was an amazing ab workout! Did my level up challenge with a jump rope workout afterwards. . It’s gorgeous outside today so for the first time ever I took my mat outside and did my meditation with karenadawn followed by a workout and some much needed foam rolling with studiotoneitupstef. Foam rolling and stretching is something I need A LOT more of so I’m so thankful these are included in our weekly schedule of #summertoneup ! I know there has been an information OVERLOAD the past week. I get it, and I understand if it’s overwhelming. I’m sorry if I’ve made anyone feel more anxious/stressed or anything else by possibly contributing to this overload, but it is my duty and so important to me to share these resources. There are so so many and I’m trying to share as many as possible so everyone finds something they are interested in/want to contribute to. ⁣ ⁣ journaling and mind dumping has been so so helpful for me during this time. believe me I am constantly learning. I’ve been watching movies (American son, when they see us, 13th and dear white people), reading articles and watching countless videos. I am learning. There is so much information. While I have been having those uncomfortable conversations — I always need to release more. Journaling helps me. Talking to people is amazing but sort of having a conversation with yourself is amazing as well. Don’t think, just write. This relieves so much anxiety and deep PAIN that I feel for this all. ⁣ ⁣ self care is so important right now. I know we are all feeling the heaviness. take care of yourselves. meditate. nourish your body. let’s all be kind to one another as well. I’ve seen a lot of judgement and hate on people speaking out. Some of us are not educated and are now choosing to learn. So if someone says something that is incorrect — kindly correct them! They are willing to learn like everyone else, so let’s give them some grace. And for those that haven’t said anything — I see it. I’ve unfollowed a few people and businesses and there is nothing wrong with that. ⁣ ⁣ I will soon be posting “normal” content, because sharing recipes and food is what I love to do for all of you. Las preparé con la sal, pimienta, paprika, ajo en polvo, oregano, Limón y un a poquito de salsa de tomate que pueden encontrar en mis historias desatacas😋 Las cociné en la freidora de aire primero media hora a 160 tapadas con papel aluminio por 30 min y luego quite el papel aluminio y las deje 10 min a 200 para que queden “crunchy”🤪 * Los tiempos dependen mucho de cada freidora entonces si ven que les falta cocción las dejan un poquito más. • Tip: Las adoban y las dejan reposar 3 horas o incluso las pueden adobar y dejarlas de un día para otro entre más tiempo más adquieren sabor🥰 #healthylifestyle #healthyfood #health #healthyliving #healthyrecipes #healthy #healthyeating #healthysnacks #healthymeals #healthychoices #healthyeats #healthytips

Last night we had leftover taco meat that I had to use up; no waste, right. Tacos thought just weren't very appealing. Blugh! Not in the mood. I ended up with this beauty. A taco quiche. OMG! So good. It's super simple! . 4 eggs 1 cup milk Left over taco meat (I had just under 1 cup) 2 Tbsp sour cream Cheese Green onions Salt and pepper More taco seasoning 2 Tbsp salsa . Grease pie plate. Place hamberger on the base and cover with grated cheese. Mix all the rest together and pour over top. Cook 1 hr at 350. . Yes, that simple!! Divine. It has been a heavy past few days of self-reflecting and continues to be an eye opener to me even as a POC.  I just want to say THANK YOU to every single person who takes time to look at my content or who has ever dm’d me asking me my advice on something or who has ever commented on a photo of mine spreading love and kindness. You are appreciated! ❤️  Every day we wake up is another day that we are able to live our lives and stand up for ourselves and what we believe in. In some ways yes, but in many ways, no. Yes, some studies show that keto decreases insulin resistance (insulin=hormone) and can improve PCOS (often driven by insulin resistance) but you have to remember that most of people with these conditions are either overweight or obese. Therefore, a keto diet will show improvements as the subjects will loose weight to start with and this will automatically increase insulin sensitivity (insulin resistance are driven by free fatty acids from carrying too much weight). Unfortunately, many will fall back to old ways due to the hardship of the diet and often put on more weight than before. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 👩🏻‍🦱🧐👩🏻‍🦱🧐👩🏻‍🦱 Also, most research with keto is mostly done on MEN. With female hormones being in a delicate balance (not just affected by diet but also by stress, sleep, exercise, toxins etc.), keto won’t always work in the same way as it does for them. 🤔 🧐👩🏻‍🦱🧐👩🏻‍🦱🧐 For example, to drastically reduce carb intake can put a big stress on the body which can cause an increase in cortisol - the “stress” hormone.🤯 If we have elevated cortisol levels over a longer time, the body will compensate by producing more testosterone and oestrogen and less progesterone. This can lead to missed periods, acne or worsen conditions such as endometriosis or PCOS. 😔 👩🏻‍🦱🧐👩🏻‍🦱🧐👩🏻‍🦱 Also, the high amount of fat (if sources of this is not very carefully chosen) can also shunt your body into oestrogen dominance which can then lead to suppression of the thyroid. 🌿CONSISTENCY IS 🔑 🌿 What an absolute AMAZING transformation this is! This was down to consistency and motivation to never give up. When thinking about a goal, e.g wanting to lose wait I think of the ‘toilet and Roll’ theory. That is, when you first use a new roll, and take off a few pieces, it’s appearance doesn’t change much. However, when you’re consistently taking 1 piece you start to see the toll change. This is what I’m seeing with my diet. Every day, with little changes and consistency I am seeing what I hoped and always desired. There’s no reason you can’t do this, message me for details and tips. 🌿

Kicking off summer with the BEST summer salad. • • • For the Cinnamon Vinaigrette 1/4 cup sunflower or olive oil (I used olive because I had it already) 2 tablespoons of honey (I used wildflower honey) 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard 3 teaspoons apple cider vinegar 1/2-1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (depending on preference) Pinch of salt • • For the Salad 1/4 cup sliced almonds 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seed oil (Trader Joe’s has a great one) Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel seasoning 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds 8 cups chopped kale leaves (rinsed and set at room temp) 3/4 cup canned chickpeas, or cooked if you want more of a crunch 1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen and thawed) 1/2 cup blackberries 1 peach sliced thin (fresh or frozen and thawed) 4 large strawberries, hulled and sliced 1/4 cup minced chives 2 tablespoons hemp seeds • • Directions Make the dressing: In a jar or hand-blender, add all dressing ingredients and shake or blend until smooth. Set aside. Scatter your sliced almonds in a pan with your toasted sesame oil, everything but the bagel seasoning, and white sesame seeds. Toast the nuts, stirring occasionally, until lightly brown and fragrant. About 5 minutes. Set aside. Assemble your salad. This recipe makes two large salads, so get out two pretty bowls :) or save some for later. Make the salad beds with kale, topped with chickpeas, blueberries, blackberries, peach, and strawberries. Sprinkle your chives, hemp seeds, toasted almonds, and more white sesame seeds if desired. Pour the best dressing ever on top!! And devour.
