How to stay active if you're staying at home. More and more of us are spending time at home and thinking about other ways of being active. Official advice recommends against non-essential contact and all unnecessary travel - including working from home if you can - which means our routines are going to be changing. But staying active is more important than ever right now, and even if you’re mostly in your house at the moment, there are plenty of ways you can still do so. Unfortunately, if adhering to a physical fitness regime weren't already hard enough, staying physically active has become even trickier to maintain with the closure of workout facilities and the prospect of self-isolating or being quarantined. In these unusual times, routine is the first key to success. If you're limiting contact with people, it's really easy to fall out of your routine and just let things roll. But if you normally get up and do stretches at six in the morning, you should continue to do that. Parents who are now at home should take this opportunity to get physically active with their children. It's a great time to get outside in the garden and play with them. Maybe it is the right time to teach them gardening. It’s also a great time to activate gym equipment that has sat dormant in the basement or take your workout to the garden, and then challenge your friends to do the same.
